NCCCO Rigger Level II Certification

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires employers to use a qualified rigger for hooking, unhooking, or guiding a load from a crane. ASME B30.5 further defines what deems an individual as a qualified rigger.

CCO Rigger Level II Certification meets the rigger criteria set by ASME B30.5.

Our CCO Rigger Level II preparation consists of all the services you need to prepare for your written and practical exams. CICB offers subject matter expert-led training from Rigger Level II certified instructors, online testing preparation to learn the latest practices for passing the written exams, and hands-on training to master the principles assessed on the practical exam.

About NCCCO Rigger Level II Certification

CCO stipulates that a Rigger Level II exhibits Rigger Level I skills and knowledge while also being able to select rigging components and procedures based on rigging capacity.

Rigger II skills include:

  • Accurately estimating load weight and center of gravity
  • Identifying lift points
  • Determining and choosing rigging based on loading
  • Conducting pre-use rigging and lift point inspections
  • Utilizing knowledge of load angle factors, load integrity, rigging capacities, and hitch configurations to identify and attach riggings
  • Understanding load dynamics and associated hazards while unsupervised

Elements of Our Rigger II Training Program

CICB's preparatory training focuses on the domains assessed during the NCCCO Rigger Level II practical and written exams:

  • Scope of the Rigging Activity Domain
  • Planning the Rigging Activity Domain
  • Selection of Rigging Components
  • Technical Knowledge
  • Inspection
  • Execution of Rigging Activity
  • The Practical Exam consists of two tasks
    • Level Lift
    • Rigging Frame Rotation

NCCCO Rigger II Practice Test

During the training, we offer practice tests to gauge familiarity with the topics assessed in the written exams. Students receive a test at the beginning of their program to discover which areas the instructor will focus on. Students also receive another practice test towards the end of their training to gauge confidence in the materials. These practice tests then make excellent study guides for acing the exam.
