Operating Tips

OSHA, ASME and the Crane Manufacturers require that all Mobile Cranes be inspected prior to operation. A written record of the pre-use inspection is not required, however, the use of an inspection checklist easily facilitates the performance of the inspection. In addition, while OSHA and ASME give some general requirements of what must be inspected during a frequent inspection, the crane manufacturer gives crane specific inspection requirements such as lube points and tire pressures, as such, it is advised to use a checklist based on the manufacturers requirements.
